But at least that particular congregation understand the hemiola in bar 7 which in my experience throws off many a congregation. As does the penultimate line in "Guide me O Thou great Redeemer", which most insist on screaming out the high note for. And plenty of other ones in Christmas carols. In fact, Mr Can Bass, I'd like to hear your own compilation of common musical errors to be found in church—choral or congregational!
