In view of my singularly fruitless efforts to gain temporary employment for the month of August, I have decided to have a couple of weeks away from the Cathedral Close. I'm going to my sister's house in Frinton. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Frinton?
You poor devil.
Well, not knowing anything about Frinton, I will not pass judgement on it. Enjoy your time away from the close and with your sister.
We'll miss you--am looking forward to fall as well.
re 'blogging' - you not only Can, but Do - Very Well.
We'll ALL miss you, sir. Hope the sun shines.
Have a great holiday....wherever you are, I hope its near the seaside...
Ah yes, the internet has yet to reach Frinton, poor devils.
Sorry to hear your employment quest is dragging on. From personal experience I would definitely recommend the temping route in lieu of something permenant (however you do have to go in and hassle them on a daily basis once you have signed on with them to make sure you get something decent)
Isnt that where they have no pubs and no fish and chip shops? How on earth are you going to amuse yourself there for amonth?
I have never heard of Frinton. Sounds like the kind of place with people who have missing teeth....I have no idea why I think that!!
